Whittle is a young squirrel who replaced Tay as Mistmantle's lawyer and historian and is a member of The Circle. He knows every law and story of Mistmantle. He also knows the entire Threading Code.
Personality
Whittle has been described as being a bit scatterbrained but very dedicated to learning all the laws and history of Mistmantle. He has been said to pick up the laws and the Threading Code pretty quickly, but he practied all day on it. He is really intrested in what he is doing.
History
The Heir of Mistmantle
Whittle is first seen with Tay. She is teaching him the Threading Code, and he mutters it to himself over and over for a long time. Whittle is later seen accompaning Apple to Urchin and Needle's ceremony to be promoted to The Circle.
Urchin and the Raven War
When Lord Arcneck and the swans arrive on Mistmantle, King Crispin summons Tay and Whittle to hear their opinions on the state of claim that the attacking Ravens may or may not have over Swan Isle.
Urchin and the Rage Tide
After Tay retires, Whittle is made the sole lawyer and historian of Mistmantle. When the animals are looking for Furtle and Ouch, he is helping, telling Crispin about an old castle where they might would have gone which was bulit by King Acorn.
