So, lately there's been really little activity going on on this wikia. It's really frustrating, because I want this wikia to be as huge as it once was. I've tried to edit a bit everyday, but it's hard to do this alone. I'm not sure if I'll stay here that long if nothing happens. What I am going to do, is to be on wattpad. I'm writing a Mistmantle fanfic. My username is CaptainHawtorn(Hawtorn for strenght).
Hello! I'm mainly a user on Redwall wikis (though I like Mistmantle too, obviusly XD ). Anyways, I had a question. Do you know how common advanced reader's copies of Urchin of the Riding Stars are? 'Cause I've got one, and I was wondering about it. Thanks :)
I actually had to google up what "advanced reader's copies" are, so just as you know I'm not the best one in englsih c:
I don't know very much about it but I think it isn't common to have one. I googled up advanced reader's copies of Mistmantle and I found one that was on sale that was inscribed by Margaret McAllister. So if I had one, I would feel very lucky :P
OK, thanks :) I got mine a year or two ago at a homeschool convention and wasn't sure what I had, y'know, if it was rare or not. It had a '200' stamped in red across the bottom of the pages, and that kind of roused my curiosity. I've been meaning to ask somebody for a while, but just got around to it XD Thanks again! :D
Don't mention it! :) By the way, do stay awhile if you like, what? I'd be glad to have you on board, seeing as there's been a general decline in members here recently; and if you've got any extra info or characters you've found in the books, do add a page or send a message on through, if you please! Glad to see another face around, you know? :D TTFN, Rivenwold (talk)
Okay, I'll see what I can do! :D Though to be honest, I'm only up to 'Urchin and the Heartstone', as far as reading the books is concerned (drat :( ). But yeah, I'll see what I can do until I get farther XD
Hmmm, yes. Interesting :) I don't know about the last 3, because like I said, I still need to read them >_<
But anyway, yes. I definitely agree with the first one, as he's young. Book 2, however, I don't think he'd be 13 yet. I kind of imagine Book 2 starting not too long (say 3-6 months) after Book 1. Though that's mostly because they hadn't yet crowned Crispin in Book 2. I know they couldn't crown him without the Heartstone, and that there could've been any amount between the books because of that. I just think, by the way they talk about the events of Book 1, that Book 2 didn't occur too long after. Anyways yeah, that's my opinion :)
As for the others, I guess they'd be about right. I don't really know yet, of course, but they seem about right to me
QueenMe wrote: Hello again :) My curiousity level has grown too much and I can't keep wonder how old Urchin and everyone else is in the different books(of course in human age). So this is how I see him:
Book 1: 11
Book 2: 13
Book 3: 15
Book 4: Not sure but maybe early 20(I mean, Crispin and Cedar got two more kids)
Book 5: 24-25
What do you guys think? Im just really curious :)
I'd say in Book 1 you got the right age, Book 2 I'd think he'd be about the same age as Book 1, maybe one year older. Then a year or two between 2-3 (because Catkin was born), then 7-8 years between 3-4 (Catkin must have been old enough for Cedar and Crispin to let her alone with only one animal to gaurd her) and the same amount between 4-5 (Because Oakleaf seemed to be about the age of Catkin from the previous book).
Book 1: 11
Book 2: 11-12
Book 3: 13-14
Book 4: 20-21
Book 5: 27-28
Also, thinking about how old Crispin would have been in book 5... He said he was a little older than Urchin when he became captain. So lets say he was 30 when he became a captain, then a few years after that for the start of the First Book. So:
Seeing as you're one of our Norwegian users, would you by any chance know of who the translator for the Norwegian edition of The Mistmantle Chronicles is? I haven't been able to find this anywhere, despite lots of google.nl and google.co.uk searches. If you do, send them on over if you please, what? =)
I was just thinking about asking you if you'd be interested in creating a Mistmantle Wiki in Norsk so that there would be five different Mistmantle Wikis in each of the languages: Norwegian, Spanish, German, Dutch, English (this wiki).
To see how this works, head over to the Urchin and the Heartstone article, and look up at the upper-right corner. There should be three flag icons there that look something like this:
Languages: | |
One can then proceed to click on the flag icons for each country, and they will send you to that wiki. For example, if you clicked on the icon on that bar, it would take you here - to the same page, but translated into Nederlands!
Hi QueenMe, still round, eh what? How are you faring of late? Having a good Holiday season, I hope. And by the way, would you happen to know of the names of the Mistmantle books in Norwegian? It would be a fantastic bit of help to my categorisation of all the Translations of Mistmantle if you could, don'tcha-know. Either way, Happy Holidays from the flipping hare on the Wiki, what what! :)
I am so sorry for not answering! I haven't been on this wikia for a very long time. I have missed it so much and it makes me so happy to see that you have done much work here. The Mistmantle(Tåkemantel) books are called: Urchin av de Dansene stjerner, Urchin og Hjertesteinen, Tåkemantels arving, Urchin og Ravnkrigen and Urchin og Flodfølgen. I will try to be more active, and once again: Thamk you :)
As in the Spanish translation, the names of the islands and characters are the same than in English, I don't know whether to put the names of the islands in English or translate them and leave them in Spanish.
What is your opinion?

Yes, the pages on here should be in English, my good chap; this is a wiki about the English translation of The Mistmantle Chronicles. By the way, nice to meet you, Glorfindel. Your Cronicas de Mistmantle wiki is positively blooming splendid!
Assuming you're the bally head administrator since the others appear to be blinkin' inactive, I'll be sure to inform ye of all the changes I make on this wiki, post-haste.
Righto, so far I've added Character Templates(in two colours, one for good characters and one for villains), though I'm going to have quite a time adding them to all the character pages, haha! Sending this by y' to be sure you approve of the templates- if not, I can remove them easily enough, eh what?
Splendid meeting you, see you round, g'day, and all that. Cheers! :D
